Moocatpaper: Etsy store owner interview

Today’s Etsy store feature is Moocatpaper who specvialises in Washi tape. So, let’s see what Laura, the owner told me šŸ™‚ and have a look at some of her winter favourites ā¤

Hi Laura! Thanks for agreeing to this interview. Can you tell me a few things about yourself?

My name is Laura Brown and I’m 33 from the UK. I am a stationery addict and have been for as long as I can remember. I love a good to do list and can often be seen scribbling notes in my Uncoiled Erin Condren. I have two children who aren’t allowed to touch the pretty things in my office so they are slightly obsessed with buying their own now.

You sell Washi tape. How and why did you start selling washi tape?
When I got my planner I found a distinct lack of washi tape products available in the UK for people buying in the UK and that when I had ordered things myself I wasn’t impressed with the delivery times.
I decided to source my own which are shipped the same or next day delivery 6 days a week. That combination of customer service, great products and smooth delivery is what keeps people coming back to Moocat Paper.
IsĀ there anything else someone can find at your Etsy store? Do you have any favourite types of stickers?
In the Etsy store you can find Page Flags, Pens and Notebooks as well as branded and Moocat Washi Tape. I love using stickers in my planner from UK based suppliers such as Elliebeth Designs, AgentPuku, Stickleco and ellenbee
If you could turn back time to the day you opened your store, what advice would you give yourself? Any top tips?
Don’t rush. I did and within the space of two weeks I was already changing the name of the company and the branding. Make sure you read everything Etsy has to offer to help manage your business.

Can you share with us your favourite washi for fall/ winter and the holiday season? (pls add some pics here)
washi one.jpg

Washi 2

washi 3

How do you plan? How do you use washi in your own planning?

I plan in advance but have learnt to use pencil now as I hate crossing things out. I use Washi tape to brighten up the week and use thin washi to divide the week from the weekend.
Where can people find you? How can we connect with you?

Pretty Paper Designs: Interview and free planner printable

I am a member of the Mambi Happy Planners group and there I met a lovely girl. Stacie Jo. She has a blog called Pretty Paper Designs and she uploads planner sticker sheets free for anyone to use.Ā I liked her work and we started chit chatting a bit online, I thought I’d ask her a few questions about her planner/sticker journey for my blog. So, let’s see what Stacie Jo said.

1. Tell us a bit about your blog?

I love the idea of bringing free designs and ideas to other planner and scrapbook lovers out there. Though I love the etsy shops available, I can understand that not everyone has the funds to purchase already made stickers and accessories.
And that is how PrettyPaperDesigns was born! On my blog PrettyPaper Designs.weebly.com you will find my free printables. I have also just begun a YouTube channel and there I will teach you how to create planner stickers and other accessories so you can add those personal touches to your planner all on your own

2. Why stickers and planning?

I have always been a planner girl since receiving my first planner back in school, but I never even knew there was a whole world of sticker planning until a Youtube video came across my screen and I was sucked in to the planner world of stickers, Target dollar spot, and Staedtler pens.

3. How do you plan?

There are many ways that people can plan but I am part of the pre-plan variety. A video explaining how I Pre-plan will be going live on my YouTube channel September 30th!

4. What are your future plans?

In the future I hope to branch out and show my viewers how to make accessories such as planner clips, bookmarks, dashboards and other cute little creations for their planner. I was trying to think of how I could bring this idea to my blog and I think the perfect way would be to hold RAKs (random act of kindness) on my blog. Though there are some amazing etsy shops out there I do not see one in my future. There is more to opening a shop then I think that most people realize and I already have my blog and channel to keep me busy šŸ™‚

GabisPlannerPrints: Etsy store owner Interview

Hi lovelies!!

Time for anotherĀ  Etsy store feature. Today it Ā is GabisPlannerPrints/GabisPaperCo. She talks about herself, her store and is so kind to share a printable and a coupon code just for us!! (yay). So, let’s see what Jennifer (the store’s owner tells us).

Hi Jennifer! Thanks for agreeing to chat. So, can you tell me a bit about yourself?

I’m Jennifer and I live in the beautiful state of Oregon with my husband of 5 years, 2 kiddos and my third is due to join us in January.Ā  I love all things crafty and working with my hands.Ā  I made my first quilt when I was 9 years old!!Ā  I also enjoy cooking, baking, sewing, and I can do one heck of a chain stitch when I crochet šŸ˜‰Ā Ā  My Erin Condren Planner is an extension of my brain and my pregnancy brain would be lost without it.Ā  Playing with my planner is my #1 hobby right now because it gives me a chance to brain-dump and some much needed me-time after the kiddos go to sleep.Ā  I find that I sleep much better and fall asleep quicker when I can get my to-do list and thoughts down on paper.

How and why did you start making stickers?

I was a scrap booker for many years and I’m pretty sure that is where my love for stickers started.Ā  I have been using planners for years and stumbled onto Erin Condren while watching a vlogger that I follow.Ā  In the process of using a planner more, scrapbooking less, having children, and realizing that I have too many things to tuck into my memory bank to remember; my planner started to become a memory keeper as well.Ā  I started to use my scrapbooking stickers but they didn’t match the color themes of my Erin Condren Planner and I wanted to change the headers to fit my needs.Ā  I do not buy anything that I can make myself.Ā  This is why I have not dabbled in cake decorating yet… I would eat all the cake all the time!Ā  So, I went to my encyclopedia of learning known as Youtube and realized that I can make my own stickers!Ā  I have really enjoyed designing the stickers, and using my own creation is rewarding.Ā  My 4-year-old daughter thinks that having a mama who makes stickers is the greatest thing ever!

What about ideas? Can you tell us what inspires you?

Life, my kiddos, and the Erin Condren color themes.Ā  I named the store after my kids:Ā  Gabriel + Abigail = Gabi’s.Ā  You all will have to wait until January to know what the ā€œsā€ is for.Ā  My designs are always evolving to match the needs of what I am currently planning and the monthly color schemes play a big role in that as well.Ā  I love florals and jewel tones!Ā  I’m finding that I write SO MUCH in my planner that I have decided to get a second planner and just recently a 3rd planner!!Ā  I love the EC for my 3 main uses: To Do, Work/Homeschooling, Little Things (this is my memory section and kind of like a scrapbook)Ā  I’m running out of room to write and I don’t want to tote all that information along with me when I leave the house.Ā  My Erin Condren will be my planner for all things work/Etsy related.Ā  I want a Plum Planner to be my household/home binder of all things important and daily tasks.Ā  And the 3rd planner for all the wonderful memories of my family and life.Ā  This will be especially helpful for tracking milestones for baby #3.Ā  I have not decided what type of planner yet.Ā  Any suggestions would be lovely!Ā  Now that I am expanding my style of planners; I will also be offering stickers to fit ALL of them.

What can someone find at your Etsy store?

So far, I have been designing stickers based on what I would want in my own planner.Ā  Actually, almost all of the stickers that are in my shops are there because I made them for myself and decided to share them with others.Ā  Planning can be a very expensive hobby.Ā  I wanted to offer printable’s and stickers that are affordable, low shipping costs, good quality, and thin so that they don’t add too much bulk to our planners.Ā  Printable’s are great for those who enjoy DIY projects, saving money, and getting more bang for your buck.Ā  I am adding more designs weekly as I create the stickers for my own weekly spreads.

I have been having a lot of fun making paper clips to match my themes.Ā  I will be adding decorating kits to my shop very soon.Ā  The kits will have washi and paper clips that coordinate with the stickers.Ā  I too am on a budget and have limited storage space.Ā  And that inspired me to create kits.Ā  Just enough washi to create a spread without owning a whole roll!

If you could turn back time to the day you opened your store, what advice would you give yourself? Any top tips?

Keep printable’s separate from physical stickers so that customers are not confused about what type of product they are receiving.Ā  Originally my shop, Gabi’s Planner Prints, was printable’s and then I added physical stickers.Ā  I have recently separated them and the physical sticker shop is Gabi’s Paper Co.Ā  I am now in the process of redesigning the physical stickers with the correct shop name and retaking photos.Ā  Must have good lighting!!Ā  This is another reason why I am re-doing my photos.Ā  It is all a learning process.
Now let’s move on to planning. 6. How do you plan?Ā Planning usually takes place on a quiet evening after everyone has fallen asleep.Ā  I gather my: stickers, black Pilot G-2 .05 pen, washi tape, lemon ginger tea with honey, and I sit at my desk and enjoy the process.Ā  It’s the end of the day and I finally sit down to relax; therefore, cue the baby and the kicking!Ā  I reposition my stickers often due to my arm touching my belly and it getting kicked.Ā  I look forward to planning because it is just me, the baby, and my thoughts.Ā  I treasure uninterrupted thoughts šŸ˜‰ Ā I decorate my week and plan for Monday and a little bit for Tuesday.Ā  Add over the last month I have tried different styles of decorating to showcase my product and share it on Instagram and Facebook.Ā  I have learned that I am NOT a no-white planner.Ā  I have way too much to write and I find that all the color makes focusing on the words a bit difficult for me.Ā  I really enjoy looking back at my weeks and reading my ā€œLittle Thingsā€ sections.Ā  Plus the pages are decorated and it is like looking at a scrapbook.

Connecting with you :).Ā Where can people find you?

Planner Chick Designs: Etsy Store Owner Interview

Hi Lovelies!

Another Etsy store owner interview today : D . Wendy from Planner Chick designs tells us about herself and her store. So, let’s see what Wendy told me.

My stickers

My purchase

Hi Wendy! Thanks for agreeing to this interview. Can you tell me a bit about yourself?
Hi Joanna!Well, I have been married for 27 years to my childhood best friend and I have four grown children, all of whom work for me in my Etsy shop. I also have 2 adorable grandchildren. I was a stay at home mom for 15 years before I went to work as a nail tech. I left that career to run my Etsy shop full-time.

Ā How and why did you start making stickers?
My husband and I have always been very entrepreneurial, opening and closing several businesses over the years; and my favorite part was always designing our logos, brochures, ads, etc. Everything to do with graphic design. And then when I discovered Erin Condren planners and the planner decorating world, I knew I had found my niche.
Excellent!! Can you tell me about what inspires you?
I’m inspired by small things. The beauty of nature, my grand baby reaching her arms out to me, breakfast on the porch on a beautiful morning. It’s an effort to always be present, but it’s a goal I strive to achieve.
Let’s talk a bit more about your store. What can someone find at your Etsy store? Do you have any favourite types of stickers?
I’ve always been a practical person, so my stickers are very functional, and I also offer a Sticker Book for compact storage of PCD stickers. My favorites are the monthly kits, because I just love everything to be color coordinated.
If you could turn back time to the day you opened your store, what advice would you give yourself? Any top tips?
I would tell myself, “You’re going to make mistakes. Just roll with it and do whatever it takes to make the customer happy.”

Now let’s move on to planning.
How do you plan?
I’m a plan-as-you-go type of person. 5 of the 6 people in my family have ADD, so we are very impulsive, so if I ever planned an entire week, it would be covered with “cancelled” stickers by the end of it! That being said, my goal is to one day plan a week in advance and actually complete it.

Plan with me: November 2nd-8th

Sunday morning is often time to plan, so here is this week’s spread. I am still trying to figure out how to plan in my Happy planner. I am also colour blind, so I have no idea if this week’s spread is colour co-ordintated, but doesn’t matter. I like it ā¤

I have started writing down my work schedule cause I am an online teacher, so my lesson times change every week. I am also preparing for a teachers’ conference which is taking place in Barcelona next week, so I have put that in throughout my planner just to remind me that I have to plan my PowerPoint presentation.

Featuring Shop Alissa Love: Etsy store owner interview

Good morning lovelies, today is Saturday and I thought I’d share with you another Etsy store feature. Today I am talking to lovely Alissa from Shop Alissa Love.Ā We get to know Alissa a bit better and she is veryĀ kind and shares with usĀ a coupon code for 25% off from her stickers (thanks Alissa <3). So, time to chat with Alissa.

Hi Alissa!! Thanks for agreeing to an interview! Can we start by you telling me a bit about yourself?
I’m from Santa Monica, California. I studied art and design in college and for fun I try to grow my own orchids. I don’t really have a green thumb, but I try anyway! šŸ™‚

How and why did you start making stickers?
I started noticing people in the planning community using stickers and planners to help make organizing tedious daily tasks fun. I wanted to join the fun so invested in sticker making supplies and haven’t looked back since! I use a canon pixma printer and silhouette cutting machine. I am happy to share my tips and techniques if anyone is interested!

What inspires you?
I am inspired by sparkly pink anything and rhinestones. I put magenta rhinestones all over my iPod in high school.

What can someone find at your Etsy store?
My store carries lots of functional planner stickers as well as unicorns, flamingos, and gummy bears sprinkled around for a memorable and unique touch.

If you could turn back time to the day you opened your store, what advice would you give yourself? Any top tips?
Make BIG lists of ideas and inspiration! I keep a list in my planner and add to it whenever I think of new designs. Also, if you have a website link it to your Etsy shop! It helps drive traffic and gives people a place to find out more about you as well as build customer relationships and trust. There a tons of people selling stuff on the internet so it’s important to do your research.

How do you plan?
Every Sunday I print out stickers and come up with a theme. Sometimes just a color theme is enough. I like to start with the borders of my planner and work my way into the middle of the page. I try to make each week different.
