I went to Wilkos the other day and went straight to the Essence stand.
Essence is a brand I discovered when I was in Germany. Very affordable with good quality products.
I had heard a few YouTubers comment on how amazing the metallic eyeyshadows were. My Wilkos had some, so I bought some. Then my friend showed the Roses palette, which she had bought, and of course, I got eyeshadow envy and bought that as well.
I needed a new nail varnish. Tick. And finally, I repurchased my beloved lash princess mascara.

I always take lunch to work. It is my way to save money. You see, we have a microwave at work, so we can heat things up. No excuse. Also, I live next to Superdrug, so I try to save money to buy more stuffs 😜.
What’s in my lunch box?
I usually take lots of snacks like fruit (fresh and dried), pretzels, cookies etc. I like to have a variety of snacks, so I can eat what I feel like when at work.

I filmed a video with a Glossybox unboxing and I talk you through what was in my October box.
October had an Angel and a Devil box. I got the Angel box.
What’s in it?
Well, you have to watch the video to get a full review, but in my box, I got an eyeshadow palette, a pencil lippie, a face mask (which is really cool), a hot chocolate, an eyeliner and a hmmm can’t remember.

This is a monthly subscription box. You do get a few random stuff in it, but always welcomed. I usually moan about being colourblind and wearing makeup, trying to be a fashionista. A world where colours define you. Make you feel in or out… but is there anything kinda cool about it??
OK, let’s press rewind a minute (yeap, I am from the time where “rewind” was a thing). So, I spent loads of years thinking, believing, knowing that apart from being visually impaired (registered partially sighted), I was also red/ green colour blind. Kinda amazing coz, well, women are not rarely colour blind (that is a myth people! 1/200 gals are colour blind).
So, as a teacher and someone who is into research, I decided to volunteer and take part in research that had to do with glasses that supposedly corrected colour vision (if only it was that simple). Anyhoo, I did this specialised test and found out that I am not red/green colour blind. I am an incomplete achromat which means I have a bit of colour vision. I am closer though to those who see black, grey, and white. Now that is RARE. Still in the process of figuring out what is going on though.
How could I not know? Well, I always knew my colour vision sucked which is why I always asked people for help with colours, therefor no problemo!
The… Pros?
The main disadvantage of being colourblind is not being able to see colours. Don’t get me wrong, it sucks. A lot. As lot as a lot can be, but it is also liberating for me, as a woman (when I am in a free spirit mood).
Liberating????
Think about all the colours you do not wear coz you think they do not suit you. I do not have that problem. I have no idea what looks shit on me (unless someone tells me), so I am free. I just go for it.
I wear brights, neons, pinks, reds, yellows, the lots! And it is fine. I get compliments even. I stand out.
My manager said the other day

Huh?? Had I known my top was bright, would I have worn it? Probably not. I would have thought,
I cannot wear something bright to work
But I did… And I can… And it doesn’t matter!!!
My lippies are pinks. Pinks that most of my friends are scared to go near. I wear them and they say,
Oh! It looks nice! Get it.
The interesting thing is that they say,
You can pull off those colours
Can I? Or is it about living in the bliss of not knowing…
I buy clothes (which I do not know how to match), but I buy if I think it looks good against my skin. If the top looks good, I get it!
I am free till I am not. Until everything needs to match, my insecurities take over, and I just conform to the norm. A world where everything is colour coded.
Except when they are not and then you are free…. to colour… without worrying about colours…
Sooo, I decided to give my YouTuber me a boost by filming better quality videos (because the quality of my videos is why I am stuck on 339 subscribers, not coz I may be boring!!!). Anyhoo, so, I sat in front of my video, got the focus right (or so she thought) and started filming. My July faves are great. My video, not so much 😜.

*Formula Jaw and Neck cream (M&S)
This cream has a similar texture to moisture surge. The nice jelly, cooling feeling. I have been using it for about a month now and I do feel the skin under my chin tightening. I have linked a product similar to what I am using because I was not able to find what I have been using. Defo check it out if you are in the market for a nice jaw cream. It is around 15 pounds.
OK, I am kinda cheating here, but where would I put a perfume??? I love this perfume. It is a summer rose with a hint of a cucumber-y freshness to it. I love it (my fave perfumes are Chloe love, Escada notes, Clinique aromatics white- just to give you a feel of what I like).
Aveeno Hand cream
This is a great hand cream. It does not sting, it gets absorbed quickly and it does not smell.
Sudocream (baby bum cream)
Random, I know but I just love it. My boyfriend told me to use it when my skin was feeling itchy and it was red. Works great on eczema as well.
Interdental brushes from Boots (or anywhere)
I get food stuck in my teeth (TMI), I know, but I use these little brushes and they are amazing!!!! I love them. I have them all around my house now. I use them instead of floss. If you have never tried them, please check them out!
4Head Balm (great for headaches)
So you know when you have a throbbing headache and your magic trick (paracetamol and coffee) does not work? This is when you should try this product. It is a balm you swipe over wherever you have a headache and it starts tingling. It has helped me in some cases with headaches. I really like it!
An oldie, but a goodie. I use this blush a lot. I love it. It is my summer go to blush. I bought the mini blush and it is great! No meed to buy the full size.
I love this lipstick. So pretty. Loads of compliments. Great for the summer. Amazing texture. Nice, soft, nourishing. I love this line. I have written a blog post about it and you can find it here.

For me, it’s coffee from my coffee machine (yummy latte), a record playing in the background, a book (currently reading Sophie Kinsella’s book and love it) and some sort of pampering session i.e. nails and masks.

I went into Boots and bought loads of masks. Hydrating, soothing, brightening. Love them all!
My nails
I got the 60 seconds nail varnish from Rimmel and the base/top coat from the same brand as well. I am really happy with the results guys!

My boyfriend asked me why I don’t wear dresses. I thought to myself.
Why don’t I?
Well, I thought they’d make me look bigger than what I am. I thought they’d emphasize my lymphodema. I just forgot about them and just kept on buying trousers.
One day I was in New Look and saw a pretty leopard print maxi dress. I tried it on. I liked it, but I thought to myself,
I cannot wear dresses in public.
Or can I?
A few days fast forward, I showed my friend Marina (she was visiting from Greece).
I said proudly,
Look at the dress I got for the beach!!
She said,
Why won’t you wear it anywhere else?
Umm cause my body shape was a fat pear and cause I didn’t wanna look like a fatso box.
But then I stood in front of a mirror. Vanity started floating in the air…
Hmmmm I can pull this off.
So, I did. I wore my maxi dress in London and loved it.
I felt sophisticated and fun. Summery and free. I wanted to twirl in my dress.
Then a monster was born. The Maxi Dress Shopper Monster. I have five dresses now. I 😍 them all.
