Five Faves:beauty and random

So initially I shared this video on Friday and I called it five Friday faves. Catchy title, right? I never got round to writing a blog post though, so here I am on a Sunday at 8 p.m. blogging.

Back story

I ❤ favourites (videos), but I always forget to film one or have too many faves. That is why I started filming my Friday faves. They haven’t really become very popular (then again none of my videos have :P), but I do enjoy chatting about faves and I will do so here as well.

OK enough with the rambling dude……

What do I talk about

A book

Eleanor Oliphant is completely fine.

I have not finished reading this book but it is so much fun. It is about a lonely, kinda awkward gal who shares her stories. You should check it out. According to Reese Witherspoon (www.amazon.com)

“Beautifully written and incredibly funny, Eleanor Oliphant Is Completely Fine is about the importance of friendship and human connection. I fell in love with Eleanor, an eccentric and regimented loner whose life beautifully unfolds after a chance encounter with a stranger; I think you will fall in love, too!” —Reese Witherspoon

Chubby Sticks

Of course I am going to go on about the Clinique Chubby Sticks. I love them. If you are partially sighted, like me, or a newbie makeup gal, you should check them out.

I have the lilac, brown, pink and beige/gold. They retail for about 17 pounds. I have had them forever. Nice creamy and they do not crease. Strongly recommend lovelies!!!See below the full colour range.

Nuxe Multi purpose dry oil

Lovely oil which I use on my hair and …… (wait for it) elbows. It smells very lightly and is not oily… for an oil. It leaves my hair feeling nice and soft. I only use a little bit on the ends. It does not leave my hair greasy. I really think this product is underrated. It has also helped my elbows soften a bit. A little bit goes a long way.

Sephora Beautifying Mist

Spritz spritz and you wake up without wrecking your makeup. Is that enough?

Lush Sleepy body lotion

It is supposed to help you sleep. I cannot comment on that. It does smell nice though and does seem to help me relax.

OK now if you want more details on these products and are bored (wanting to watch something), then check out my video!!!

3 Thoughts Tuesday

Hi everyone,

How are you? I hope you are having a lovely week. In today’s post I am going to share a new YouTube video idea I had. It is called 3 Tuesday Thoughts and I review 3 well known products and tell you what I think about them.

🌻🌻🌻🌻3 Products 🌻🌻🌻🌻

In today’s video I talk about Estee Lauder Doublewear which is my Go To foundation if I want a budge proof foundation and a porcelaine skin effect. I 😍 this foundation and in the video I show you how I apply it (sponge vs. brush) and what I think works.

I talk about the Stilla liquid eyeshadow in Grace. Are they worth the hype? Yes! They are opaque and stay on for a long time. I 😍 it (more details in the video -toot toot).

I finally talk about lip oils and my favourite Clarins one. It is the Instant light lip comfort Oil. The colour I have is a kinda orange. I tell you why I like it and swatch it.

If you are interested in these products, click on the video and check out for yourself. Let me know how thesebeauty products work for you. If you are looking for a new channel to watch, check out mine.

Thanks for stopping by.

Five Friday Faves

Hi!!

I thought I’d share with you another Five Friday Faves post video. What is Five Friday Faves? Well, I talk about Five random things I have been loving. I talk about makeup, skincare, books, clothes and more.

So, let’s start.

1. Oasis

I love shopping from Oasis and I picked up two things during the sales; a bag and a top.

The bag has leather details, stripes, and a big bow. It has some pockets inside. It is a “chuck in everything bag”. I use mine to go shopping and stuff like that.

I also bought a lilac top. It is very lightweight material. The cute thing about it are the sleeves. They look like they are lace. So pretty.

2. Kefir Quark

I am a mac n’cheese kinda girl cause well it is quite hard to sustain this bod 😜. From time to time though, I slip off the unhealthy bandwagon and try something healthier. I bought my first (and not last) Kefir quark. I got it because I was looking for something good for my stomache (it is ideal if you are on antibiotics). I got the chia and raspberry flavour. It tastes a bit like a sour Greek yoghurt. It is thick and a bit sour. The seeds make it taste a bit yummier. I also add weetabix to mine and it makes a yummy filling brecki.

3. Olay Serum

So, full name is Olay anti-wrinkle 2 in 1 firm and lift booster and serum. It comes with a pump. It is a serum you can use before your moisturiser or under your makeup. It does plumpen up your skin. It is for women 40+. It does not break me out or sting. I usually wear it at night and in the morning my skin feels nice and soft.

4. Summer at Rose Island (by Holly Martin)

Time for some chick lit. Girl meets boy in a British UK seaside resort. There is a lighthouse. It has all that are essential for a big love story. I like it because it is funny and fast paced. A page turner coz it is fun.

5. Clinique Chubby Stick in

I have mentioned my chubby sticks over and over. They are so easy to use. I am partially sighted (I cannot see) , so it is very easy to mess up my eye makeup. These eyeshadow sticks are very easy to control. The pigmentation is quite good. The application is super easy. It spreads evenly and does not really crease (unless you colour your lids in too much and then, yes, after a while, it may crease). I have a couple of shades, but the one I reach for most often is Fuller Fudge.

So, you can now watch my video where I talk about these faves in more detail (maybe even subscribe to my channel?? 😍😍).

Have you tried any of these products? What are your Friday faves? Let me know in the comments below. Don’t forget to “follow” my blog (or Youtube channel), so that you never miss out on my super duper rambles.

Face Oils: my new love

Hi lovelies,

We all like our skin to be nice and soft, don’t we? The older you get though, the harder it is. The T word starts to be part of your vocabulary when you go to Boots (T word aka Texture). Today I will focus on a skincare product I started using and fell in looooooooove with.
Facial Oils

During Christmas I bought the M&S advent calendar. In it there was a small facial oil. It is called.

Balance Me Rose Otto Face Oil, 30ml

I chucked it in my skincare stash and just forgot all about it. A couple of weeks ago I had a look at that stash and saw the facial oil again.

I first asked myself,
Do I need a face oil?
The answer is,
Yes!

Balance me facial oil.jpg

Why?

  • Face oils are very beneficial for you skin.
  • They hydrate and nourish your skin, even if you have oily skin. They actually boost your moisturiser.
  • Oils help you have a healthy glow
  • They help make the application of your foundation smoother. If you have dry patches, your foundation may stick to them. When you apply an oil, those dry patches become softer, making your skin softer and smoother.
  • Oils also act as a barrier against harmful pollutants. An oil is one more layer of protection!

Application

Put it between your palms, warm it up, and then apply all over your face. It is better to use it under your other products. It should be your first layer. You should do this morning and night.

Balance me oil.jpg

How does it feel?

It does not feel greasy. It leaves your skin nice and soft. It does not sting. It makes dry patches vanish and it smells nice (light rose scent which is not really noticeable).
I have the mini and I will definitely buy the full size.
If you are interested in other minies that I ended up getting in full size, please read this post. Do you have any facial oil recommendations? If yes, what are they? Please let me know in the comments below.

Balance Me Rose Otto Face Oil, 30ml

One beauty product forever & my favourites

This post contains affiliate links
What would be the one beauty product you could not live without? I mean category. If you had to save one thing, what would it be? What do you neva, eva leave the house without? Is it mascara? Eyeliner? Foundation? Blush? What is it?
Mine is lipstick. I love lipstick, I always wear it and often reapply it throughout the day.

I ❤ lipstick

My favourite lippes of all times

I have two faves. One is a beautiful pink and it is more for autumn  (plum pop) and the coral for the summer (poppy pop). The Pop line feels very nourishing and although it is not marketed as long lasting it is quite long lasting. It comes with a primer (in it).
clinique pop.jpg
This is a liquid lippie that I love and have repurchased once already. It is summer coral. Very comfortable on the lips and very long lasting. It does not go cakey on ya. I ❤ it.
Laura mercier.jpg
Kat Von Di Lolita
Yes, worth the hype. Another liquid lippie which is a nude hot pink. It feels comfy on the lips and very long lasting. I do want to get the lip liner though and make it even more long lasting.
Katovondi.jpg
Lip oil
Have you tried any lip oils? If you haven’t and you want to make your lips look juicy, this is what you need in your life. I have the YSL lip oil in…… It is very hydrating. It does look like a lip gloss. Does not last long but does feel nice on the lips and makes your lips…. kissable.
Mac Retro liquid Lippie Back in vogue
This is a long lasting liquid lippie in a nude pink. I love it!
Mac.jpg
This is my fave drugstore lippie. Again, hydrating, quite long lasting and a nude pink. Your lips but better as they say. I have repurchased this one as well.
Maxfactor.jpg
This is my YouTube video with swatches and a bit more info. I’d ❤ it if you checked it out (and subscribed maybe)

So, lovelies, any lippies you think I should check out? Do you have any favourite formulas? if yes, which ones? I’d love to know in the comments below.

Two Gems and a …..: M&S Beauty Haul

M&S beauty haul.jpg

Hi everyone!

I ❤ shopping at M&S and especially the beauty hall. This weekend I did a bit of shopping and I thought I’d write a blog post where I tell you what I got and what I think. Let me start by saying that I am really excited about two things and that the third purchase is a bit of a ..meh…

Of course, something that may not work for me, may be your dream product, so always keep an open mind when reading a review (me thinks….)

So, what did I get?

Autograph Hydrating Confidence Boost Primer (30 ml)

I got this primer because I tried the mini and loved it. It is hydrating and feels like water on the skin. If you are looking for something moisturising and hate sticky primers, you should check this out. I cannot really attest to its longevity because I am not that super duper at makeup applying, but it does feel very comfy on the skin.

Autograph Hydrating Primer.jpg

It has cucumber and aloe extracts and it does make the foundation apply smoothly. The finish it gives is more matte than dewy. Then again, I always buy matte foundations. You can check this product out here.

I also got the Stila Shimmer and Glow Liquid Eye shadow in the colour Grace.

Stila Grace Liquid Eyshadow.jpg

It is a metallic gold (see pic) and it looks lovely. Gorgeous colour!!!!! I have heard so many things about this eye shadow and was so excited when I saw it in the M&S beauty haul (no need to order it from the US anymore!!). You can get your own here.

Finally, I got the Autograph colour shine lip lacquer in Rose.

Me

I love the colour, I love the feeling on the lips. It is opaque (but not with one go), it is juicy looking. But…. I hate the applicator. It is not at all user friendly. It is like a stick. I would not call it very long lasting either. I’d say it is more of a lip gloss. It reminds me of the Estee Lauder lip glosses. Will I repurchase? Don’t think so. Will I use it? Yeap! You can check out the range here. It is what I have on my lips in the pics.

If you haven’t been to the M&S beauty hall, you should really check it out. You get free delivery when you spend 50 pounds (UK only). You can check out what they have by clicking here.
